The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation supports a two-year project at PRB, Communicating Health Priorities (CHP), to disseminate and communicate the analytic work of the Disease Control Priorities Project (DCPP), including the published volume, Disease Control Priorities in Developing Countries, 2nd Edition. CHP builds on the significant investments of the Gates Foundation, the Fogarty International Center of the U.S. National Institutes of Health, the World Bank, and the World Health Organization to communicate this powerful policy tool, which combines epidemiology and economics to identify the "best health buys."
CHP reaches a wide range of audiences, including senior government officials in developing countries, senior staff in international development institutions and donor-country governments, NGO and business leaders, researchers, and academics, with face-to-face meetings, publications, and access to an interactive website (www.dcp2.org). Members of the DCPP network play a key role in delivering the health policy messages, and CHP makes creative use of the news media around the world to stimulate a policy dialogue on disease control priorities.
