Women’s Edition Loses One of Its Own

Faith Kandaba gave an interview with PRB staff in November 2014 about her work covering women’s issues in the media.

We mourn the passing of Faith Kandaba, a journalist with Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) and an alumna of PRB’s Women’s Edition program. She died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2016, at the University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka, Zambia, after a short illness.

She is fondly remembered by her Women’s Edition colleagues who praised her as a dear friend as well as a skilled broadcaster with a “fiery spirit.”

Faith joined Women’s Edition in 2012 and participated for two years, during which she and her fellow journalists met for the first time at a seminar in Washington, D.C., and later traveled to Women’s Edition seminars in Malaysia, Ethiopia, and Jamaica. She also participated in the Women’s Edition “Master’s Class” with the best-of-the-best alumnae.

Faith joined ZNBC as a trainee in 2000 and rose through the ranks to become a well-known TV presenter and trusted journalist. Click here to read ZNBC’s announcement of Faith’s passing.
