During the first week of August, the Population Reference Bureau joins the international community in celebrating World Breastfeeding Week. In Kenya, breastfeeding has dramatically improved over the last decade, from 13 percent to almost two-thirds of infants under 6 months exclusively breastfeeding as recommended by the World Health Organization. Unfortunately, each year, more than 70,000 children still die in Kenya before their fifth birthday. Malnutrition contributes to nearly half of these deaths. See the story, the consequences, the challenges, and the solutions to alleviating this crisis in the new multimedia presentation, "Nutrition on the Rise: Raising Kenya's Future."
