The IPUMS online data analysis system provides a way to create custom tabulations and analyses from microdata, such as from the American Community Survey Public Use Microdata Sample (ACS PUMS) files and the Current Population Survey Annual Social and Economic Supplement (CPS ASEC), without using statistical software.

PRB developed a tutorial series to introduce data users to the system and provide step-by-step guidance for two key applications. Our tutorials use data from the ACS PUMS, although the methods discussed can be used with any of the datasets available through the IPUMS online data analysis system.

These tutorials were funded by the Annie E. Casey Foundation. We thank them for their support, but acknowledge that the material presented in this video is by PRB alone and does not necessarily reflect the opinions of the Foundation.
