Reproductive Health in Policy and Practice: Brazil

(October 1998) In Brazil, reproductive health policies predated the 1994 International Conference on Population and Development by 10 years. This study covers various actions included in Brazil’s reproductive health agenda: prenatal care; obstetrical assistance; gynecological cancer; prevention of STDs and HIV/AIDS; incomplete abortion care and access to abortion services, as permitted by law; and contraception assistance.
