“Kenya’s Key: Investing in Young People” is an ENGAGE multimedia presentation that portrays how reproductive health for young people lays the groundwork to improve health and well-being, manage rapid population growth, and achieve Kenya’s development goals. Using data and graphics to explain the connection between investments in young people and Kenya’s development goals, the objective of this presentation is to mobilize political commitment and resources for reproductive health care for young people. Examples of target policy audiences include government officials and policymakers, donors, health- and education-sector leaders, civic and religious leaders, advocates for reproductive health and young people, and journalists.

This 15-minute presentation was developed by Kenya’s National Council for Population and Development, Division of Reproductive Health; the Center for the Study of Adolescence; and PRB; with guidance from a Kenya ENGAGE task force comprised of reproductive health professionals and youth advocates. The presentation was developed with support from USAID Kenya under the Informing Decisionmakers to Act (IDEA) project.

“Kenya’s Key” is available in two formats below—with and without a voiceover. A user guide, presentation guide, and key messages handout are also available to provide facilitators with skills to effectively deliver the presentation.

With funding from the U.S. Agency for International Development, IDEA—Informing Decisionmakers to Act—increases support among policy audiences for effective health and population programs around the world. By increasing the flow of accurate, understandable information about population, family planning, and reproductive health to policy audiences, IDEA enhances efforts carried out by civil society, the public sector, the development community, and donors. Under IDEA, PRB has developed a series of dynamic multimedia ENGAGE presentations to engage global leaders and country-level policymakers in issues related to family planning, reproductive health, and other key development issues.
