Reproductive Health in Policy and Practice: Uganda
(September 1998) The objective of this study was to determine how central elements of the 1994 International Conference on Population and Development have been implemented in Uganda, and to identify achievements and obstacles. Within the broad framework adopted at the ICPD, the Uganda Ministry of Health is focusing on the major priority programs that most affect the population: safe motherhood and child survival; family planning; prevention and management of STDs and HIV/AIDS; capacity building; adolescent health; infrastructure development; and information education and communication.
