Balancing Work, Caregiving, and Well-Being Across the Life Course

Balancing paid work and family caregiving responsibilities can create competing demands on people’s time, with implications for their health and employment. Our upcoming webinar features two researchers examining how those demands play out across the life course.

Patrick M. Krueger (University of Colorado Denver) will discuss how work hours and parenting responsibilities relate to sleep and physical activity among men and women. Zohra Ansari-Thomas (Franklin & Marshall College) will share how providing care for both children and adults—often referred to as “sandwich caregiving”—is linked to women’s labor market participation, with particular attention to caregiving intensity and stage of life.

This event is hosted by the Center for Public Information on Population Research (CPIPR) at PRB, the Coordinating Center for the NICHD Population Dynamics Centers Research Infrastructure Program.
