Executive & External Relations

Expertise: Donor Outreach, Communications, Research Methods

Julia Greene guides PRB’s efforts to strengthen donor engagement and expand the organization’s visibility, while also providing executive support and working closely with the Board of Trustees to advance PRB’s mission. She collaborates with external stakeholders, partners, and board members to grow PRB’s network and deepen its base of support.

Before joining PRB, Greene spent several years at the Global Crop Diversity Trust in Bonn, Germany, where she helped shape fundraising strategies, coordinated donor outreach, and managed international campaigns. Her work contributed to securing more than $300 million in financing commitments and to launching the Food Forever Initiative, a global advocacy effort that connected governments, foundations, and private-sector leaders around biodiversity, food security, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Greene also holds a Ph.D. in International Relations and Political Science from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IHEID) in Geneva, where her research focused on immigration policymaking. Her graduate work included a Swiss National Science Foundation–funded project involving large-scale media content analysis, where she built both advanced qualitative and quantitative expertise.

Originally from Murfreesboro, TN, Greene is fluent in French and has a basic knowledge of German. She also received a master’s degree from IHEID and a bachelor’s degree from Rhodes College in Memphis.
