For more than a decade U.S. Programs has worked with Brandon Roberts + Associates to produce state-level estimates of the number and characteristics of low-income and poor working families using data from the American Community Survey and the Current Population Survey. We review the operational definitions of indicators to ensure that they reflect the issues they are designed to measure and are feasible given the data sources. U.S. Programs staff provide additional data analysis and technical assistance to Dr. Roberts and participating state organizations throughout the project year. We have also coauthored a series of data briefs on low-income working families in the United States.
