Sign Up for the 2026 World Population Data Sheet

Coming in September.

The Data Sheet is one of the most important thinking tools my students have.

Liz Bash, Clark County School District, Nevada, United States

For six decades, PRB has released the World Population Data Sheet—a trusted, independently curated snapshot of global population data used in classrooms, cited in policy testimony, and relied upon by researchers and journalists. But when public funding cuts dismantled USAID last January, funding for the 2025 edition disappeared along with it, creating the first publication gap since 1962.

The response to this news was swift and personal. Stories poured in from around the world about what the Data Sheet had made possible, and what its absence would mean for students, policymakers, and communities who depend on trusted population data to make decisions. Emboldened by this support, PRB brought together a new coalition of donors—and a 2026 edition will arrive this fall.

Students analyzed important information and made connections across geographic regions. Every time a student had a demographic or development question about a country I said, 'Go grab a Data Sheet and let's find out.'

Kristin Bumgardner, East Baton Rouge Parish School Systems, Louisiana, United States

The Data Sheet is actually one of the few posters I have hanging on my walls, for my students to reference and use throughout the class. [It] also is a great way for my students to practically learn statistical analysis, the visualization of data, and the importance of critical thinking.

Katelyn Dodd, Seneca High School, South Carolina, United States

Every semester I give student assignments where they must use the World Population Data Sheet to answer questions about the relationship between poverty, mortality, and economic development.

Cynthia T. Cook, Creighton University, Nebraska, United States

PRB’s Data Sheet and its many publications have grounded our local response in a global framework, showing us that what we are facing in Venezuela is part of a larger story—and that we are part of a larger global reproductive health community that is making change possible.

Steven Bloomstein, Fundación ServYr, Venezuela

I can't imagine teaching AP Human Geography without the Data Sheet! They learn how to read and make choropleth maps and population pyramids—all essential knowledge for the AP Exam. They use the Data Sheet to write about gender equality and inequality—again, not in a partisan way, but in a FACTUAL way. The Data Sheet is one of the most important thinking tools my students have.

Liz Bash, Clark County School District, Nevada, United States

I have used the Data Sheets in my classes for over 10 years. They have been an amazing source of reliable data for my students to use and get a real sense of the contrasts that exist in the world.

James Baggaley, Geography Teacher, United Kingdom

I have been teaching geography classes at the middle and high school levels for 29 years. I have been using the PRB Data Sheet in my classes since 2005. I am so excited at the beginning of each school year to see the newest Data Sheet and incorporate the updated data into all my lessons. I have also had students use it as a reliable source in a number of different research projects.

Scott Brink, Teacher, Connecticut, United States

As an English teacher, I use this valuable data with my students to understand current and upcoming trends in demographics. The Data Sheet gives a comprehensive insight that is not easily available elsewhere.

Nicolas Sonnier, English Teacher, Montluçon, France

The data that PRB has provided over the years has been one of the fundamental pieces of unbiased and accurate sources of information that my students use. They have learned that data can counter stereotypes and that data can be used as a force for good.

Iain Goodwin, Teacher, AP Human Geography, Maryland, United States
